The 4th day of August (SATURDAY): WHERE IT ALL STARTED

As I got out of the plane, I took a deep breath and whispered, “This is it, self. Fighting!”

12 midnight.
We met our beautiful Indonesian buddies waiting for us at the arrival area. (On the left was Ocy and the other is Fidya. They were so friendly and smart they could speak the English language very well.

We also met the first time our co-SEA Teacher exchange students from Thailand who have also just arrived on the same day but earlier than us. Their names are Coffee, the one wearing green and on his left side is First.

Faculty Teknik, Universitas Pasundan
Setiabudhi, No. 193, Bandung, Indonesia

On SUNDAY Aug. 5 was our free time. We were very tired due to the several hours of travel from the Philippines to Jakarta Soekarno Hatta International Airport and then a 5 hour van ride to Universitas, Pasundan in Bandung, our host university. We were then introduced to our dormitory which is located just beside the Faculty Teknik (Engineering Faculty) in PASUNDAN UNIVERSITY.

Caritas Cristi Urget Nos!
We just slept the whole morning after the unpacking and at 5:00 in the afternoon, Ivy (wearing yellow), me (on the second), Sister Nicole, and Marc, attended the Eucharistic mass at the Gereja Katedral, a Catholic church in Bandung. I thanked God for the opportunity to be a SEA Teacher Exchange particpant and I also asked for His guidance and protection for our one month stay in Bandung.

WELCOME DINNER
Ampera, Sundanese Restaurant, Bandung Indonesia
On the evening, a welcome dinner was held at an Indonesian buffet called Ampera. We were with Ms. Elfina, and two other buddies named Syifa and Ikke. They served different kinds of Indonesian traditional foods like Tahu (Tofu), different recipes of Ayam (Indonesian term for Chicken), and seafoods. We can choose whatever we want to eat. And ooh, who could ever forget their traditional Chili sauce! You won’t experience Indonesia if you won’t try their spicy foods. And of course, their Hot Tea is a must try. It was my first time to taste a sweet tea my whole life! A sudden thought appeared on my mind, “I will get fat in here.”
